ALL BETS ON ME

Larry Morrow is a serial entrepreneur from New Orleans who quickly gained recognition for his event production skills in his early 20s. At just 20 years old, he learned the value of relationships, unknowingly planting seeds that would later manifest significantly, positioning him for many opportunities. An extreme risk-taker who loved to gamble, Larry transitioned from gambling on games, where the odds were against him, to gambling on himself, where the odds were more in his favor.

Larry’s journey began with producing college parties at local nightclubs and bars and evolved into organizing some of the hottest events in the country. He eventually came to own some of the very venues he once frequented. Featuring today’s biggest celebrities, he initially hoped to break even but was more intrigued by the relationships he built through producing events. Even if he lost financially, he felt like he won through the connections he made. In a short time, he realized there was an art to building relationships through true Southern hospitality, providing memorable experiences, and exceeding expectations.

His reputation grew, leading him to author a self-help book titled “All Bets On Me: The Risk of Becoming an Entrepreneur,” where he shared his experiences and insights on entrepreneurship. His ventures didn’t stop there; Larry also delved into real estate development, further diversifying his entrepreneurial portfolio.

In 2018, Larry opened his first restaurant, Morrow’s, in partnership with his mother, Lenora Chong. The partnership was the perfect concoction—with her culinary skills and Larry’s ability to promote and curate the perfect settings, it quickly became the staple it is today. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Larry’s determination and resilience led to the opening of six additional locations between 2021 and 2024. These ventures include Monday, Sun Chong, Morrow Steak, Treehouse, Hide & Seek, and the upcoming Spicy Mango, a New Orleans Caribbean fusion restaurant set to open in fall 2024.

In 2021, Larry opened his first club, Treehouse, in a venue where he used to produce events. Now an owner, Larry transformed Treehouse into an indoor/outdoor venue that hosts some of the hottest events, attracting people from all over to party. Shortly after opening, Jay-Z purchased a painting that hung in Treehouse called “The Tree Of Life,” a popular photo op for customers and celebrities alike. This painting was later placed in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to honor Jay-Z, showcasing the significant cultural impact of Treehouse.

In 2022, Larry opened his biggest restaurant, Monday, a 13,000-square-foot venue designed to transform the dreaded start of the week into an eagerly anticipated day. Most people look forward to Fridays, but Larry wanted Monday to be seen as a fresh start to a week filled with new possibilities.

In 2023, Larry opened Sun Chong, an Asian American concept inspired by Korean and Cajun flavors. It’s his love letter to his maternal grandmother, Sun Chong, affectionately known as Sun, and pays tribute to her journey from Seoul, Korea to New Orleans through dishes, classic hip hop, and innovative cocktails.

In 2024, Larry opened Morrow Steak, a restaurant that redefines the fine dining experience in New Orleans by combining traditional steakhouse fare with innovative culinary techniques and a vibrant atmosphere.

During the pandemic and shortly after, Larry’s vision and appetite for more grew. Inspired and motivated by the success of Morrow’s and Treehouse, he was driven to build his family and legacy, leading to the birth of Morrow Hospitality. With goals of setting a new standard in hospitality, inspired by his deep roots in New Orleans and driven by global travels, he aims to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. He aspires to make a lasting impact on his guests, community, and the industry.

Larry Morrow’s dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence have positioned Morrow Hospitality for significant growth and continued success. With expansion plans for Houston in 2025 and subsequent openings in Atlanta, Miami, and New York, he aims to build the largest Black-owned hospitality group in the country. His entrepreneurial journey is a testament to the power of relationships, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. His legacy is one of inspiring future generations and embodying true Southern hospitality.
